Donny and Denese moved to Summerland in 2009 from Edmonton, Alberta. Both were born and raised in Manitoba. They purchased the orchard in 2009 and began their new life in Summerland. When the orchards was purchased, it was primarily an apple orchard with only 68 peach trees. Due to the poor condition of the apple trees, the over 300 trees were removed and mulched. As of 2020, Donny and Denese have grown their orchard to about 330 peach trees, 400 nectarine trees, 160 apricot trees and 390 plum trees. The plantings are not yet complete and the farm will continue to grow.
We offer U-Pick so everyone can better experience the orchard, and the feel and smell of fresh fruit hanging on the tree. If you don’t want to pick, we are happy to pick for you. During our harvest, we also have tasty homemade fruit pies.
We strongly believe in organic farming practices and value the high quality of our fruit and the eco-harmony of our orchard. We want our children to experience the pleasure of eating a fresh peach directly from the tree without fear of harm from pesticides or other chemicals.
